Master Marine was established in May of 1994 by Brett and Ken Trimbath. The two brothers grew up on Indian Lake near Somerset, PA where boating and water skiing had been a major part of their lives. While serving as an Aerospace Maintenance Engineer and Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy, Brett was looking ahead and searching for a “fun” follow-on career. He convinced his brother Ken to invest in and build a boat sales and service center in Norfolk, VA. Their original products included MasterCraft Ski Boats and Carvel Deck Boats in 1994. In 1995 the brothers took on Regal Boats, Key West Fishing Boats and WetJet. With better than expected Regal Boat sales, the dealership quickly expanded into the Williamsburg location in 1996 and their market area covered Southeast Virginia and Northeast North Carolina. In 1998, the family made the decision to downsize to the one boat brand so they could better focus on customer needs and service. Regal Boats had been selling themselves through earned reputation of Best Performing, Most Luxurious, Safest and Best Quality Constructed boats on the market. Consideration was also given to Regal’s exceptional above and beyond backing of their product with a limited lifetime hull warranty. Together, Regal’s thirty-five plus years of proven quality boat building coupled with Master Marine’s commitment to remain a family oriented dealership, ensures first hand-first name quality service to each and every customer. In January, 2006, Brett expanded the dealership by adding a satellite location at Ocean Marine Yacht Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. In January, 2007, he expanded Master Marine again by becoming the Marina Operator in charge of the Jamestown Yacht Basin in Williamsburg, Virginia. Master Marine now has more than 80 wet slips and plenty of room for on-trailer storage right on the marina property.
